Melanie Warner is an Installation Artist based in London and became known for her 'Bog Standard Gallery' in 2007. |

 |
| Owing to the success of the gallery, there are now a number of curations and exhibitions produced under this name. |
| Originally a 'portaloo', the space mimics that of a traditional art gallery, with white walls and an oak floor. Believed to be the smallest art gallery in the world, there have since been 50,000 visitors to the metre-squared cubicle. |
| The Bog Standard Gallery was the first to exhibit photographs from the 'Bog Standard Signs' series. 'Bog Standard Signs' is an exploration of toilet signs from different countries and cultures around the world. Beginning as a piece of research investigating whether cultural differences are portrayed in the design of toilet signs, Melanie has been traveling around the world taking photographs of toilet signs to draw conclusions for this research. This growing collection currently consists of over 1500 photographs. |
 |
| Owing to the growing size of the 'Bog Standard Signs' collection, Melanie has been exhibiting this series of work in other locations. These include Urbis in Manchester, and the Toilet Gallery in London. |
