| Performance New Media Artist |
|
Amy is a recent graduate that studied Fine Art and Performance New Media at Chester University. She is still at the beginning of her career but has already had her work shown in local galleries and has won third prize in the Shropshire Open. |
| Her favourite medium at present is digital photography and she has been building up a diverse series of images using female models. Even though she takes photographs I she does not consider herself a photographer, rather a performance artist using a camera. She elaborately prepares her female models for the picture to be taken. Carefully selecting props, and choosing what they wear. She considers every detail of the image from the pose, to the location. Often using face/body paint and materials that can become extensions or part of the body, the preparation becoming as important as the image. |

Dependance |
| The main objective of her pictures is to transform females. She chooses not to capture a person as they are, but to stage a persona, a feeling or an inner desire. The final image becomes a representation of that female or femininity as a whole. She is extremely fascinated by the possibilities that are provided by this subject as there is vast scope of feminist theory to explore. She is interested in showing female as both strong and submissive because she believes that is a true reflection of how women are and their roles that they play in society. |
